Knitting and Fiber Related Exhibits

We went to the Ralph Foster Museum at the College of the Ozarks in Branson last week. I have to say that it was a very nice experience. We saw the original Beverly Hillbillies Truck, y'all have to know that I love the Hillbillies! There were all sorts of neat things from the original kewpie dolls and a large display about the creator to gun from the beginning of time to now, to animals and birds. Mixed in with the exhibits were a lot of things on Ozark living in the 1800's. I saw several looms and spinning wheels and such from as early as 1800 to the mid 1900's. Here are some pictures of the things that really caught my eye.

The first two pictures are of traditional costumes from the region of Sophia. The are hand embroidered and I thought they were magnificent.

The rest of the pictures are misc. knitting and spinning items from the 1800's. Pretty cool stuff!

If you're ever in Branson, you must drive over to the little town of Hollister to the college and check this place out! It's cheap too! Only $3.50 for a whole day!
